Wildlife Safari with RIB Boat

Join us for a spectacular experience along the coast of Vardø with a RIB boat tour.

This Wildlife RIB Safari offers a dynamic way to experience the rich nature of Varanger and the Barents Sea. Each tour is shaped by the conditions and wildlife activity of the day. Rather than focusing on a single species, we seek out the birds and animals that are present at that particular time. If whales are in the area, we will head out to observe them. If King Eiders have been spotted nearby, we will make our way to see these striking Arctic birds.

This safari is only available from June–August. Availability depends on nature and conditions.

The route includes a visit to the local seal colony, a consistent highlight along the coast. We also pass Hornøya, Norway’s easternmost island and one of the country’s most important seabird colonies, before heading further out onto the Barents Sea.

Please note: As the tours will operate in the evenings only this year, we will not be able to go ashore on Hornøya.

Wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, as they depend on natural conditions and seasonal movements, but every tour offers an authentic and varied encounter with Arctic nature.

  • Included: Safety briefing and information about the tour. Life jackets, warm suits, and goggles provided.

  • Note: Please bring warm clothing and sturdy shoes.

  • Only evening departures (the midnight sun will keep the ocean light)
